Prediction of Burning Injuries Using Human Models Equipped with Instruments-Experimental Report

9 Experiment report

9.1 General. Information described in 9.2. 9.6 shall be included in the test report.

9.2 Specimen type. For experimental purposes, see Article 1.

9.3 Sample description. Specimen (s) described in the following information items: type / size of garment / assembly, fabric weight per unit area, fiber type, color and non-standard garment function and design features. Include a description of any pretreatment of clothes / components, such as washing, and any holes or cutouts in the clothes / components to accommodate cable connections.

9.4 Exposure conditions. Records, describing information about exposure conditions, including: total number and general arrangement of burners used to create the flash fire exposure; descriptions (such as symmetrical placement on thighs and knees, two burners in each quadrant flat on knees and chest) A simple sketch is sufficient; the average value of the heat flux density level of exposure and the standard deviation measured from full naked exposure after each test series before and after (see 8.1.4 and Section D.2); nominal heat flux density, duration of exposure And the duration of the data acquisition time for each test; any other information about the exposure conditions that may help explain the results of the test strip.

9.5 Result calculation

9.5.1 General

The results can be based on two measurements: the total surface area of the dummy receiving the second and third degree burns, and / or the total energy transferred to the surface of the mannequin during data acquisition. These two measurements are directly related.

For all materials, the evaluation of the garment and the specification of the test report include at least the results from the computer program, the information shown in 9.5.2 and 9.5.3. Both the total area of the manikin-containing heat flux sensor on the pedestal and the predicted area of the total area of the manikin on the sample covered. For authentication purposes, it is best to use scalds based on the total area of the heat flux sensor containing the manikin.

Note: Other useful measurements are the time it takes for pain and the first burn injury to occur.

9.6 Observation

Report any comments on the results of the specimen exposure in the test record. These observations may include, but are not limited to:

Any other observation that can be used to interpret the results describes the performance of the test strip.
